Modern Slavery Act Statement

1. Introduction

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Drivestaff's slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2026.

Drivestaff is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

2. Our Business

Drivestaff is a specialist HGV driver and warehouse staffing agency based in Blackburn, Lancashire. We supply temporary and permanent workers — including Class 1 and Class 2 HGV drivers, warehouse operatives, forklift drivers and industrial staff — to transport, logistics and manufacturing businesses across the North West of England and beyond.

Our registered office is: Unit 10, Barnfield House, Sandpits Lane, Accrington Road, Blackburn, BB1 3NY.

3. Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains include the workers we place with client businesses, as well as the third-party service providers we engage to support our operations (such as compliance, payroll and IT providers). We recognise that the transport and logistics sector can carry elevated risks in relation to labour exploitation, and we take our responsibilities in this area seriously.

4. Policies in Relation to Slavery and Human Trafficking

We maintain the following policies that reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity:

  • Recruitment and vetting policy — all workers are verified for their right to work in the UK, and we do not charge workers any fees for finding them employment.
  • Whistleblowing policy — we encourage staff and workers to report any concerns about modern slavery or labour exploitation without fear of retaliation.
  • Equal opportunities and dignity at work policy — we are committed to fair treatment of all workers regardless of background.
  • Supplier code of conduct — we expect all suppliers and business partners to uphold equivalent standards.

5. Due Diligence Processes

To identify and address the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains, we:

  • Conduct right-to-work checks on all workers before placement, in line with Home Office guidance.
  • Verify worker identities and check for indicators of exploitation during the registration process.
  • Ensure all workers are paid at least the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage, directly into a bank account in their own name.
  • Do not use gangmasters or labour providers who are not licensed by the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) where required.
  • Carry out periodic reviews of our client and supplier relationships to assess modern slavery risk.

6. Risk Assessment and Management

We consider the risk of modern slavery within our direct workforce to be low, given our robust recruitment and compliance procedures. However, we recognise that risks may exist further along our supply chains, particularly where workers are sourced from overseas or through third-party intermediaries.

We continually review our processes to ensure they remain effective and up to date with legislative and industry guidance.

7. Key Performance Indicators

We measure the effectiveness of our steps to combat modern slavery by monitoring:

  • 100% completion of right-to-work checks prior to worker placement.
  • Zero use of unlicensed labour providers in sectors requiring GLAA licensing.
  • Staff awareness training completed annually.
  • Any reports or concerns raised via our whistleblowing process are investigated and resolved promptly.

8. Training

We provide training to our staff to ensure they understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking, can recognise the signs of exploitation, and know how to report concerns. This training is reviewed and updated annually.

9. Reporting Concerns

If you have any concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking in connection with Drivestaff or our supply chains, please contact us:

10. Approval

This statement has been approved by the directors of Drivestaff and will be reviewed and updated annually.
